Corpus Christi Prekindergarten Program

Goals and Philosophy
Corpus Christi provides a nurturing environment where learning is guided through hands-on interaction. We engage your child in a fun, exciting, and inspiring learning experience and prepare your child with skills and concepts necessary for his or her next steps in education. We challenge each child on an individual level, to develop emotional, physical, spiritual health, and encourage a love for reading, math, and science and concepts.

Our mission is to promote the message and teaching of Jesus Christ through day-to-day activities, schedule educational events, and guided play. Our Catholic faith is incorporated into the activities each day.

In the Classroom
Our prekindergarten incorporates the following curriculum:

  • Emotional, cognitive, physical, spiritual, and creative growth through engaging learning centers and appropriate child-directed activities
  • Activities focused on literacy, dramatic play, art, music, sciences, mathematics, fine and gross motor skills
  • Staffed by an experienced teacher and a full time instructional assistant
  • Hands-on learning program covers:

Upper/Lowercase Letters, Numbers, Shapes, and Phonics

Monthly Themed Science and Social Studies Activities

Mathematics: Counting, Number Concepts, Operations, Graphing, Measuring, Shapes, Patterns, and Sorting

  • Focus on Learning Centers:

Working in centers gives children opportunities to make choices, explore at their own level, engage in hands-on discovery, solve problems, work with friends, use language skills, and be creative

  • Library and Computer Instruction
  • Physical Education
  • Mass on Holy Days
  • Music Enrichment and Art
  • Field Trips, Holiday Parties, Special Guests
  • Monday – Friday; 8:00- 11:00 a.m.
  • Afternoon Time To Grow Program available; 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. (choose 1 through 5 afternoons) Lunch is available, rest period, and activities playtime, crafts, science, and social studies

Children entering prekindergarten must be four years of age by August 1st. No entrance assessment is required.
